Musica Surfica Written and Directed by Mick Sowry
"Musica Surfica looks at the art of surfing in new ways, reminding us of the rewards of risk in learning new things. Surfer Richard Tognetti, of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, with his friend, surfing provocateur Derek Hynd, asked a diverse group of surfers, including former world champion Tom Carroll and master shaper Tom Wegener, to join them on remote King Island at the edge of the Southern Ocean, to surf... without fins. Some of the boards were ancient Hawaiian designs, while others were modern, sometimes spectacularly successful attempts to design a finless board. They were joined by surfer members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, along with folk musicians Mike Kerin and Danny Spooner, who performed for the locals and this music, of Bach, Paganini and others, forms the soundtrack to this very unusual film, a film that reminds us, too, of why we surf. For fun."

One Winter Story Directed by Sally Lundburg & Elizabeth Pepin. Written by Elizabeth Pepin
Sarah Gerhardt became a star in the surfing universe in 1999 as the first woman to slice across a monster wave at Northern California's legendary Maverick's. Media coverage, sponsorship and adulation followed, but Sarah's dramatic journey from poverty and despair to accomplishment and peace went unnoticed. Producers/Directors Sally Lundburg and Elizabeth Pepin's “One Winter Story” traces Sarah's strength and determination to their roots in a beautiful montage of film, voice, memory and emotion. The surfing footage is an awesome sight but the fine, intensely immediate rendering of Sarah's experience is this unforgettable film's real reward. (review, Mill Valley Film Festival, 2006)

Sliding Liberia follows four young surfers to war-torn Liberia in search of more than perfect waves. As they travel through the West African country, devastated by civil war, they record the stories of the people they meet––people like Alfred, who became Liberia's first surfer after finding a bodyboard while fleeing from rebels. Besides rediscovering a wave setup that could be the best-kept secret in the surfing world, Dan Malloy, Chris Del Moro, Crystal Thornburg, and Nicholai Lidow find something much more important––a way to travel responsibly in the 21st century.

Bustin Down the Door Directed by Jeremy Gosch Produced by Monika Gosch, Robert Traill Executive Producer Shaun Tomson Written By: Jeremy Gosch, Robert Traill, Monika Gosch, Shaun Tomson
During the winter of 1975 in Hawaii, surfing was shaken to its core. A group of young surfers from Australia and South Africa sacrificed everything and put it all on the line to create a sport, a culture, and an industry that is today worth billions of dollars and has captured the imagination of the world. With a radical new approach and a brash colonial attitude, these surfers crashed headlong into a culture that was not ready for revolution. Surfing was never to be the same again.

Big Wednesday Directed by John Milius
The film follows three friends, the straight-laced and responsible Jack Barlowe (William Katt), party maestro and hot surfer Matt Johnson (Jan Michael Vincent) and the up-for-anything Leroy 'the Masochist' (Gary Busey), as they transition from adolescents to adults and how their relationships change with surfing, as well as with each other. The film takes place over the course of twelve years (1961-1974) and set to the backdrop of classic 60's Malibu point surf, trips to Baja, beer-infused parties, the Vietnam War, introduction of psychedelic drugs and the shortboard revolution. The characters, informed by bad politics and equipment change, eventually drift apart; Jack goes to Vietnam, Leroy goes to Hawaii and Matt gets married. Even their surfboard shaper and mentor Bear has gotten married and moved inland. However, the trio reunites for the films climax, the great 'Swell of 74,' that cleanses everything that came before it and defines what they've become
